Ecchu Yatsuo is located about 15 km southwest of Toyoma City’s main area. Surrounded by a flourishing natural environment, the town features beautiful townscapes with old slopes, reminiscent of its long history as a trading post of the Hida Kaido trade route and its prosperity in the silkworm egg trade.
The town has also retained wonderful cultural events like the Hikiyama Festival, in which dazzling floats are pulled around the town, and the Owara Kaze no Bon Festival, a folk music and dance event with a history of over 300 years. Yatsuo has a one-of-a-kind richness that has been cultivated by the townspeople who put honest effort into each one of these events.
