Home of Owara Kaze no Bon Festival: A Peaceful Town, Ecchu Yatsuo

Once a trading post of the Hida Kaido trade route, traditional culture and beautiful townscapes still remain in our hometown, Yatsuo. A quiet town in the mountains, Yatsuo was developed by our predecessors who made a fortune from trading mainly silkworm eggs.
The wonderful natural features that have nurtured the local culture and townscapes have a mystic power to make the residents and visitors stop for a moment, just like when the wind changes and the sea becomes calm.
As the birthrate declines and the population ages, what should we leave behind and entrust to the young people who will lead the next generation? Our conclusion was that we must renew our efforts to communicate the delights of Yatsuo and implement projects to attract more visitors to the town throughout the year.
Furthermore, we hope to rediscover the delights of this town and deepen our love for Yatsuo by communicating with visitors.
