Located in Kagami-machi next to the Otaya Stairs, the best spot for watching the dance performance of Owara Kaze no Bon Festival, Nagi Otaya East & West is a renovated traditional house turned into a vacation rental.
Renovated to have a Showa* modern feel, Otaya East has a variety of spaces designed by leveraging the structure of the traditional collective housing called nagaya.
* Showa period: 1926 to 1989
The first floor features a small kitchen and a living room with depth. The bedrooms are on the second floor.
There’s also a wonderful bath made of Japanese cypress wood with the view of the courtyard.
